- Creating a new business data file & entering opening balances
- Correctly setting up and editing the chart of accounts
- The GST, accounting concepts and terminology
- Setting up customers and suppliers
- Inventory and stock control
- Understanding the basic accounting concepts
- Reconcile the bank account and credit card statements, import and export EFT & ABA files
- Trial balance
- Depreciation
- Customising accounting documents
- Reporting and graphs
- Understanding the GST & BAS link process & lodging BAS
- Verification and validation of data for corruption and data entry errors
- Using job codes and department tracking
In addition, this course demonstrates the payroll setup and day to day maintenance of employees and associated activities. Whether your company has one employee or 100 employees, this course will help you simplify your payroll system and is the perfect solution for businesses wanting to move to an electronic employee maintenance system.

- Setup of payroll categories
- Maintenance of employee entitlements, allowances and superannuation contributions
- Management of employer payroll expenses
- Paying of employees (casual, part time and full time)
- Processing of adjustments

- Creation of EFT files to pay employees for electronic direct deposit
- Superannuation including salary sacrifice & co contributions
- Using reports for PAYG withholding
- Paying of tax liability to the ATO & the lodgement of BAS

» Bring your own laptop or hire one of ours If you have a laptop with either MYOB Accounting or MYOB accounting Plus (version 14 or later) installed on it, please bring it along to the course. If you don’t have either of these programs, please arrive 30 minutes early to have the trial software installed on your laptop. There will also be a limited number of laptops available for hire, so book quickly! Hire of laptop is $50 for the 2 days (inc GST).
